This is the first Bobber build for SRC and it’s certainly spiked interest as more Bobber builds are on the table already!
Based on a '77 R80, this was commissioned by an existing customer, Chris. He wanted a military theme, hence the grey colour, and an 'old school' look.
We then set about modifying the frame to suit the fully adjustable YSS laid down shocks, created the mounts for the fully sprung custom leather solo seat and fabricated new stainless stays for the swinging arm mounted mudguard.
At the front end, apart from the re-furbished forks and brakes, a set of pull back 'beach bars' in satin stainless steel were formed and made to accommodate the Motogadget switchgear, new throttle, front brake mastercylinder and clutch lever assembly.
The headlamp shell is an old Russian unit refurbished to take a modern digital speedo and halogen headlamp lens.
Of course, the engine and gearbox haven't been overlooked, and have been treated to a complete overhaul including the carbs.
Electronic Ignition, Motogadget control unit, M Button along with LED indicators and Tail light and a new minimal wiring loom and small Lithium Iron battery located in the Tank compartment, bring this build bang up to date with reliable electrics.
Satin black rims, stainless spokes and Avon Speedmaster tyres complete the look along with satin stainless headers and black 'fish tail' silencers.
It's a really relaxed, comfy ride and I'm sure Chris will enjoy hours of fun on it.
